In September of 2015, Jessica Crofts contacted the National Refuge for Women offices with the idea of a Refuge for Women in Atlanta, Georgia. At the time, there were no other Refuge sites open outside of Kentucky and there were 4-5 homes getting ready to open at once! Refuge for Women President, Ked Frank, asked her to continue praying about it and to touch base in early 2016. Jessica and her husband, Brad, continued to pray and felt confirmation that they were to lock arms with Refuge for Women and have a location in Atlanta. The decision was made by the National Board of Directors to move forward with this idea. On February 24, it became official!

Brad and Jessica gathered friends and family together to hear their passion and journey that led them to believe God was directing their paths.  When the evening was over there were many tears, laughter, and volunteer cards being filled out.  The night closed with the room gathering and laying hands on Brad and Jessica for commissioning.

We are so excited to announce that Refuge for Women Atlanta will open in 2017!  The focus of the house will be on taking pregnant residents or residents with a child.  There is a shortage of long term recovery beds for women that have children and Refuge for Women is attempting to meet that need.

Please follow us on Facebook for the latest as we move toward opening an Atlanta home!
